The Alps are a mountain range located in northern Tuscany, including rivers Magra and Serchio up to get off to the south-west with Riviere Apuane and Versilia and northeast touching the valleys of Lunigiana and Garfagnana.
They are part of the provinces of Massa-Carrara and Lucca, while a southern extension is included within Vecchiano, in the Province of Pisa. The river Serchio turns in the southern border between the Apuan Alps and Monte Pisano.
The mountain range has failed to rise from the sea or, rather, by tectonic movements submarines.
